God describes his Word like a sword that can cut down spiritual enemies. While opening your Bible is a wonderful way to deal with temptation, you don’t always have your Bible accessible when temptation strikes. But what if the Word was always with you? Psalm 119 says, “I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” The memorized Word will remind you who you are, whose you are, and how to live. Consider Eph. 5:3, 1 Cor. 6:18, and 1 Cor. 6:20.
But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God’s holy people.
— Ephesians 5:3
Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body.
— 1 Corinthians 6:18
you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
— 1 Corinthians 6:20
